The training was designed to enhance their understanding of borehole logging operations, data processing workflows, equipment maintenance, safety procedures and supporting their continued technical development and project delivery capabilities. The training programme was conducted by three experienced Robertson Geo Services (RGS) engineers, taking one day each.
The first day’s sessions covered computer systems, software setup, equipment calibrations and technical presentations. Participants were introduced to key operational workflows and gained an understanding of the processes involved in logging system preparation and data acquisition. Specific attention was focussed on Robertson Geo’s flagship log processing software GeoCAD®, with training given for track document and televiewer module processing.
The second day focused on operational and field-based aspects of wireline logging. Topics included borehole logging procedures, safety protocols, winch safety practices and PS Logger® alignment techniques. Participants were also guided through routine maintenance procedures for both the winch and PS Logger® systems. The day concluded with a practical demonstration of cable head remaking, allowing attendees to gain hands-on experience for an essential field maintenance task.
The final day continued the training with advanced GeoCAD® applications for PS Logger® data processing. Through practical examples and guided exercises, participants developed a deeper understanding of data management and reporting workflows.
