Robertson Geo – New People and Expanding Horizons

At Robertson Geo we are enjoying a rapid expansion of our business, with 2024 being a record year for sales of equipment and services globally. This growth is continuing, requiring changes in company structure, additional staff and new positions.

People are key to us and our rural location near Snowdonia helps us to attract the high calibre personnel necessary for our operations. We already have a strong team, with a blend of highly experienced professionals and ambitious younger graduates and specialists. Three new roles, created by our directors, illustrate our intention to remain firmly at the forefront in the specialist fields of geophysics and geotechnics.

Rosalind Hen-Jones has joined us as our Research Geophysicist. Rose contributes to software and tool development, data interpretation and advancing industry expertise in geophysics. With a PhD in applied geophysics and geotechnics, and over a decade of university research and freelance consultancy, Rose now works alongside our academic partners to expand the company’s research profile.

Mal McBreeze has been appointed in our new role as Supply Chain Manager. Mal is responsible for developing supplier relationships, achieving product quality and availability, and ensuring products meet customers delivery and cost expectations. Drawing on his mechanical engineering background and over 30 years’ experience as a manufacturing manager, in a specialised technology environment, Mal now leads the company’s procurement strategies.

Emyr Evans fills another new role as Global HSEQ Manager. Emyr manages our health and safety and environmental programmes and is responsible for the continual improvement of our quality processes within an ISO 9001 framework. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise in HSEQ, gained from working in many industries in the UK and globally, Emyr is focussed to drive operational efficiency and optimise multi-disciplinary processes to achieve sustainable growth and success in the global market.

To accommodate the increase in business we are moving to modern new premises in Conwy where we have drilled two test boreholes for development, calibration and conformance testing. The new RG Academy®, our centre of excellence for training and data quality, will be based here providing borehole and classroom training for our customers, delivered by experienced field professionals.

Once fully operational at our Conwy site, we will extend an invitation to all our customers to join us here to take advantage of our world-class training facilities.
